Much like Christmas or a birthday, some of us wait all year for this event! The 45-day Food and Wine Festival is Epcot’s World Showcase gone wild! It’s a street fair featuring cuisine, cocktails and concerts from marketplaces all over the world! Upon entering, your Epcot ticket gives you access to Taste seminars, Authors Without Borders programs (including special book signings at the Festival Center), and celebrity performances, in addition to all the regular attractions in that park.
This year, guests to this annual epicurean feast can stroll through the park as they enjoy the offerings from three new marketplaces– Hawaii, the Caribbean Islands and Portugal!! They can also participate in special culinary programs like wine school with renowned winemakers or seminars featuring celebrity chefs like Cat Cora or Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro! Then there is also the long awaited return of Epcot’s “Captain EO,” Michael Jackson’s classic 3-D production. There are even HGTV-sponsored, first-time home entertaining seminars each Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
So get up, get going, get out there! This event is so much more than just a retreat for the taste buds! Don’t worry, though, you don’t have to be a wine connoisseur! It is Disney, after all!! So this wonderfully diverse crowd attracts everyone from aficionados to amateurs! No matter where you fall in that spectrum, you will definitely fit in!
