The Capital One Bowl 2013 will host the Bulldogs vs. the Cornhuskers New Year’s Day in Orlando
The University of Georgia Bulldogs will play against the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Capital One Bowl 2013 in Orlando, FL at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium on January 1, 2013 at 1pm EST. The game will be televised by ESPN on ABC.
The Georgia Bulldogs made their last appearance at the Citrus Bowl in 2009 defeating Michigan State. Tampa native, QB Aaron Murray has led the Bulldogs to their second SEC East title in two years. Murray, now a junior leads the nation in yards per attempt and ranks second in passer rating.
The Bulldogs rank second in pass defense for the SEC. They are led by LB Jarvis Jones who ranks second in the conference for sacks, with 12.5 on the season.
Nebraska returns to Orlando a year later after posting its’ third 10-win season in four years. In 2012 the Cornhuskers lost to the Gamecocks of South Carolina by a score of 30-13. You can be certain QB Taylor Martinez, who is the all-time leader in total offense for the Huskers, has not yet forgotten that loss. Or those 3 consecutive sacks in the final minutes of the game.
This years Capital One Bowl game places two of NCAAs’ most explosive offenses against each other. Murray has thrown 31TDs or the Dogs this season and the RB duo of Rex Burkhead and Ameer Abdullah have combined for a 254 yard per game average on the ground for the Huskers. Both teams are looking to come away victorious, but only one will take home the title.
