Monster Jam Returns to Florida

Dennis Anderson celebrates 30th Anniversary and brings out all new “Grave Digger” attraction.

We made our way over to Tampa, FL with haste to get to meet with four-time World Champion Dennis Anderson and son, Adam Anderson for the Advance Auto Parts’ Monster Jam media day.  We had been looking forward to this for some time now.  Whenever Monster Jam returns to Florida it means we get to see Grave Digger, which is easily the most recognizable truck in the world today.  In addition to that, I always find stories of success that start from humble beginnings inspiring, and this one is no different.  When you look at the Grave Digger franchise today you may find it hard to believe that it is something that started from junk parts from used tractors and the engine out of a 67 Chevy (Classic).  That just goes to show you that vision isn’t always about what you can see in front of you now.

Dennis seemed as excited as we did about the upcoming events and revealed to us that he is secretly a fan of Florida like us, stating “Florida is my biggest fan base in the world and I always brag ’em up”.  He also shared with us that the other love is his life, his wife, is from Orlando, FL.  Still a humble guy today, he wants his fans to come out and see the brand new, interactive “Grave Digger Experience”.  It will debut January 21st at Raymond James Stadium as part of the “Ultimate Monster Jam Party in the Pits”.  You’ll be able to watch video, follow Dennis Anderson’s career on the Grave Digger Timeline sit in cab of  Grave Digger to take pictures and more.  His son Adam talked to us about the Grave Digger K’Nex truck that took over three months to put together.  You can stop by your local Southern Ford Dealership to pick up passes to the pit party or purchase them for $10 the day of the show.  Tickets are on sale now at all ticketmaster outlets, Raymond James Stadium Box Office, or at www.ticketmaster.com.  For more info visit www.monsterjam.com

Of course we couldn’t leave without taking a spin in the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals ride truck, but they wouldn’t let us get behind the wheel, go figure.  We’ll try again in Orlando before the January 28th show.  We’ll be posting the full interviews with Dennis and Adam Anderson in our HeyFla Podcast.
