Orlando Fashion Week Brings Style to Central Florida
Orlando Fashion Week kicks off Thursday, April 19th, at VAIN Nightclub in Downtown Orlando. The event will run until Arpil 26th, 2012 and will include fashion showcases, seminars, music and much more. Orlando has been hit hard by the fashion bug with the emergence of several fashion shows in recent years but this seems to stand apart from the rest. The Abbey one of Orlando’s most stylistic live music venues plays host to the 3 nights of fashion, music and fun featuring the fall collections of some of the industry’s hottest designers such as Lile Useche, Angee Hernandez, and Rani Hatoum .
Tina Rodriguez (TMT Fashion Productions), co-founder of Orlando Fashion Week states “The goal of Orlando Fashion Week is to provide a platform for local designers to showcase their designs…” However, for those interested just interested in learning more about the fashion industry and fashion itself. Orlando Fashion Week will feature a different seminar each day of the event. There will be a sessions on creating your professional image, fashion trend forecasting, as well as marketing and branding. Each seminar will be followed by a fashion showcase, in which students from the International Academy of Design & Technology will compete for honors in several categories ranging from business attire to swimwear.
In honor of Ramona Paulina, co-founder of Orlando Fashion Week, event organizers have created a Fashion Stands Against Cancer Quilt to raise money for the American Cancer Society. You may purchase a memorial square on the quilt for $5, $10 or $25. 100% of these proceeds will to the American Cancer Society. On the 26th of April the quilt along with the money raised will be presented to the American Cancer Society.
DJ ET from 102Jamz radio station, will host the fashion showcases each night at the Abbey and spin for your listening pleasure. There will also be live musical performances.
